At St Mary’s Nursery, we provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for children aged 2, 3 and 4. Guided by our vision of ‘Faith in Everyone to Shine Brightly’, we inspire children to become confident, independent and enthusiastic learners through a creative, experience-rich curriculum. We encourage every child to develop resilience, curiosity and imagination, giving them the strongest foundations for their future learning.
In Tiny Stars (children aged 2-3), our dedicated team helps every child shine. Our curriculum focuses on the three prime areas of learning: Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, and Physical Development.
Through a balance of play-based learning and adult-led activities, we nurture children's confidence, resilience, and communication skills. Using evidence-informed approaches such as ShREC and sustained shared thinking, we support early language development through high-quality interactions, carefully chosen stories, rich vocabulary, songs, listening games, and early phonics activities.
We also place a strong emphasis on developing gross and fine motor skills, helping children grow in confidence and independence as they prepare for their next step into Rising Stars.
Rising Stars (children aged 3-4) is a happy, welcoming and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to learn, grow and shine brightly. We have faith in every child and support them to develop confidence, independence and resilience through a balance of carefully planned indoor and outdoor experiences. A well-sequenced and carefully planned curriculum incorporates early English and mathematical development, physical development, and PSED, underpinned by high-quality interactions that extend learning and deepen understanding. Our experienced team provides warm, individualised support to help all children thrive, following their interests and building the skills they need to become ready for their next steps in learning and school life.
